D.O.B: 28/06/1991
I began training with bushido at the age of 12. I joined simply because I was bored and wanted something to do and a friend of mine already trained and invited me along. I enjoyed learning new kata and trying to get them perfect, this determination allowed me to gain my Shodan after only 3 years and my Nidan in 5. When I was approached to become a cadet leader I jumped at the chance to learn new things and eventually become an instructor.
Bushido has allowed me to gain a variety of skills and experiences as well as a good level of fitness that helped me gain a recommendation for RAF officers and aircrew selection in March 2009. Without the club I do not believe I would have been in a position to apply. Unfortunately I was not accepted by the Air force this time round.
I am currently studying aerospace engineering at the University of Manchester which
means I can’t train as often as I’d like. For the future, I plan to continue my studies
as well as furthering my training when possible and eventually re-
